Default Shifter Knob Question

Is this style of shifter knob standard on the 2003-2006 model XKR? Will it fit on my 2001 XK8?

I have never been a big fan of the not-the-same-color shift knob on the XK8 or XJ and now mine has developed a crack in the clear coat. Been searching eBay for one to fit the X150 as I hear it is the same, but no joy so far in an ivory color. They all seem to be black.

It is and it should fit. Far as I know they are all the same attachment.

If trolling ebay, the R models do have an "R" emblem in the top of the knob, in case that is something you would rather not have.

Thanks.

I'll try to look at one in detail. I'd prefer not to have the R logo, but might not be that bad. Only the Jag guys would notice.

I've just replaced the shifter knob in my XJR with one out of an S-Type R, it's the standard 'R' one, so same as above, but in black and with the "R" on the top. It was a straight swap, it will screw straight on.

I also don't like the original bright wood-shiftknob. it just does not fit the interior.

Just let me know when you found one in the right color. I assume you have Cashmere/Sable SDZ Code?

Another vote for British Autowood. My wife never liked her Victory Edition Momo-inspired factory shifter knob and wanted a wooden one to match her fairly rare elmwood interior. Saul Chaplin (British Autowood) crafted a gorgeous wooden knob to match. It was a birthday present for her and she loves it. I paid about $90 in October 2012. Still the only purely cosmetic part I've ever been willing to spend money on for this car....

I got this one from an ebay listing for an S-Type. Perfect fit - and a little shorter overall than the original.

It sure does look like the same one as in this 2007 XK.

I don't know the Jag part number for it though.

Thanks guys. I knew you would have answers.

I was unaware the S-type would work, so that means more options!

Rothwell, the champagne cream might work. Mine has the ivory (NED) and cashmere (?) interior.

There are plenty of black ones and today a few grey versions showed up. Don't know what color you need.

Well according to this link:

I have SDZ or Cashmere interior. Might be hard to find.

I have "Cream" Leather in my X300 but it is brighter than the "Cashmere" in my XK8.

Then the cream might work. The contrasting trim (top of dash, etc.) I believe is cashmere, so might work as well for me.

Yes my interior is labeled SDZ Cashmere on the ID plate.

The dash top, steering wheel, and door card tops are AEK Sable.

The A-pillars, header and visors are AGD Oatmeal.
