Should I be worried about my cooling system?

Was going over my 2003 XKR today and I found a little bit of coolant sitting on the edge of the expansion tank. The car was recently in service but I don't know if they topped up the coolant and maybe spilled a little. The fluid level wasn't low anyway. The color of it was somewhat yellow (similar to what is seen in the photo). Is this what it is supposed to be? Maybe I should have it flushed and re-filled?

That's what it is supposed to look like - orange extended life OAT coolant. More than likely overspill during the service.

Provided the level is correct in the tank, wipe off the excess and see if any appears after the next run.

In a word, yes! However, I think Graham is correct in figuring you just had sloppy servicing when you had it done. Clean it up and keep an eye on it for now.

Cheers!

Sloppy service might be the problem but from the looks of the staining around the cap, I think its time for a new cap.

Hey Avern1

Good point! I would also suspect the cap if similar problem persists.

Cheers!
