Default Side body protector strips...

Hello, all! First, let me say that I really enjoy all the info found here! You have been very enlightening! After working on european cars for much of my life, I bought my first Jag about two weeks ago. Learning all I can about little details. I noticed that my car (2004 XK8 convertible, 97k miles) has no side moldings. Were those optional? Did someone remove them from my car? Are there any duplicate aftermarket replacements for the Jag originals? I like the clean appearance, but worry about the inevitable door dings that will likely appear.

2004 was the first year they left the door edge guards off. I imagine you can still purchase them from Jaguar. I own a 2001 and removed mine, because I like the looks better without them. You may find someone on the forum who may have removed them and would sell them to you.

Very good; Thank You! I found a handy "parts list" on Ebay that looks like something an insurance company would use. It has all parts listed with list prices, and even quotes times on certain refinishing labor. Those mouldings are pricey! As are most Jag parts! Thanks again!
