Greetings Cat lovers from S. FL, Having an issue with side mirrors in 2001 XK8 convertible. They pivot in-out, but not up-down. I’m thinking it’s corrosion on switch contacts. Does the door panel need to be removed to access switch?

Well i would say you are right in thinking it's corrosion on the switch as i had the same problem. If you lift out the rubber trim in the door panel, then with a pry tool inserted under the switch you can lever out the small piece of trim to expose the screw that retains the switch. the switch will lift out(it is tight so won't just jump out) unplug, and switch is out. The switch can be opened up and i found the contacts on the circuit board had corroded through so i replaced with a good second hand part. I hope this helps. All the best. Anthony.
