Spare Tire (Tyre) Size
My 2003 R has a space saver spare. It's bright red and is spelled tyre, so I have to assume it's the original but I'm a little surprised that such a high end car has such a dinky spare tire.
Was a full size an option? How many out there have a proper spare tire?

A full size spare wheel ceased to be offered as an option when different sized wheels with directional tyres became the norm.
As suggested above, a full size front can be used. I did this with my 2001 on 18" Impellars where the fronts were 8.5J and the rears 9J but haven't bothered with the 20" on my 2005.
If you do decide to carry a full sized spare, the luggage compartment floor has to be fitted in the upper position.
If you continue to rely on the skinny spare, the pressure needs to be checked regularly as they don't appear to hold the recommended 60 psi for too long.

Thanks guys.
I have 18" Hydras with the staggered setup so that is likely where it comes from. Mostly I was curious and don't have plans to change it.
Good tip about checking the pressure, such things tend to be out of sight out of mind until you really need them.
