Hi all,
I just purchased a 2005 XK-8 convertible in beautiful condition. I’m looking to upgrade the speakers, and have found several threads that are a number of years old. Has anyone done this lately, and any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi sebetic;

Plenty of people here who can help you with that; what are you starting with? Do you have the base stereo, or the HK or Alpine unit?
This will make a substantial difference as it's going to determine whether your replacement speakers can be simple drop-in replacements (with an HK or Alpine amplifier) or if you need to add an amplifier to the base model's radio powered speakers.

A lot of people run into issues when replacing the speakers in their vehicles (not only Jaguars) when they fit aftermarket units - this is because they very frequently need more power than the stock speakers they're replacing.

If you're into this you might find this interesting. I replaced the " supertwreter " in the sail with a midrange treble pod from a pair of infinity 6x9 speakers. Adds huge sound and image improvement but I've yet to get around taking it look stock. I've always wondered how much better speaker drivers from the later XK series cars might be. Heck, they improved almost everything else right? Those drivers are common on eBay.

Thanks. It’s the alpine premium system.
