Mornin', All!

On a recent drive on the Tail of the Dragon, I noticed a brief noise like a faint groan coming from the rear when accelerating out of a turn. Just a quick little noise - no clunk - and wasn't always present. Just when cornering fairly hard and coming out of the turn. It's an '03 XK8 with 17K miles. Thoughts? Bushings in my near future?

Could it be wheelbearings starting to go, and the lateral force of accelerating out of a turn putting it under load?

Could be the infamous ZF 6HP26 transmission squawk. An ATF drain-and-fill usually cures it....

 

Maybe rear suspension - upper strut mounts, or lower dampener bush. Easy tovisually check the former, hard to do the latter.

 

Thanks - all good thoughts. Since it's such a brief sound, and seems to be only when the suspension "squats" under load and coming out of a corner, I'm thinking a bushing that's dried out. Will be checking soon.
