Default Steering

Hi
Own a 2008 xk with 50000 Kim
And am experiencing problems with steering. The car is all over the place.
The first sign of problem is reversing out of my driveway and at lip of roadway I experience a clunk on front left wheel.
In general, if I do a right hand u turn - it feels like tire is collapsing.
Have replaced tyres and front struts - and problem disappeared for a couple of months. Back now big time.
Could it be a bent mag?
Thanks
Paul

Welcome to the forum. This forum is for the older XK8 1996- 2006.

A bent wheel would result in vibration, not sloppy steering. This sounds more like a ball joint, tie rod or bushing failure. But also check under the hood on the top of the wheel well the three shock mount studs and the shock itself at the center of the mount.

Thank you for your reply.
All that checked by 25 year experienced jag expert and found ok
Someone said it was diff related but that doesn't make sense with reversing out driveway and only left front wheel affected.

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry to be blunt, but if there is such an obvious problem with the steering, and your expert is clueless, I suggest you find another expert to inspect the steering.

Thx
Had several experienced experts look at the problem and all had different answers. Gave up.
Friend has xk8 supercharged year 2011 and advised just stated experiencing same.
No answers to date make sense.
Thank you for your reply.

Try posting your problem on the X150 which is correct for your car.
