Default Steering Wheel Clear Finish Chipped

Can anyone recommend what kind of clear coat to use to repair a chip on my steering wheel?

I have the same issue but I have been putting the job off until it gets worse. I refinished the shifter knob in 2020 and it still looks great. I am going to use the same procedure and try to do it with the steering wheel in place. Here's the link to the thread. I hope it helps. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...finish-230764/

I would be looking to fill it with clear marine epoxy ..sand and re varnish.
If you try to take the old finish off you will have problems when you get to the leather

It takes a steady hand but a good result can often be had with plain clear finger nail polish. Try it first in a hidden area.
