Flat Bottomed Steering Wheel
I was playing around with the configurator and noticed the option to add a flat bottom steering wheel is now gone!
Anyone notice that? Do you know why they removed the option to have a flat bottom? I don't want a round one.
Am I the the only one who misses that option?

When you're 6'3" every inch helps. I wish the steering wheel would go higher yet when in auto.

this has been discussed on here before. you can do it, but my recollection is that it's very expensive.
If you can get a used one, it would be much cheaper.
I bought one from an accident-car. It was in good condition and costs only 500 €. The swap from the dealer another 100 €.
Best thing i did on the jag.

This is my wheel…..
The interior is called Jet/Camel. It took me 18 months to find the dark sapphire blue with this interior and those were my only priorities so it made no difference to me if it was a Base, S, R or SVR I would buy it. As it turned out, I found it in Base, with all options and, VAP addressed the rest.
It is a factory flat bottom wheel which was provided with all switches and the center emblem and ring was taken from my original stock wheel. The only drawback was that I lost the heated option as a flat bottom wheel with heating would cost an additional $500 or so. Living in El Paso I have no need whatsoever for a heated wheel so I declined paying the extra. I retained my original wheel.
I ordered the wheel exactly as you see it and you can customize it to no end to suit your taste. Regarding the center band I just wanted an indentation with no color as any color in the center would distract from the wheel in my opinion and, well, it is my wheel. But tastes varies and you can see many who have a color on the band and after agonizing about it I chose just the indentation. Now, I am very happy that I did.
The top plastic mouldings I had done in piano black to match the center console as well as the molding on the bottom of the wheel with an orange U line to represent my orange 1973 Datsun 240Z which I was the original owner of and very painfully sold a few months ago.
The agonizing thing is that you have loads of options to choose from. Even the stitching comes in three or four different styles and when you start putting it all together you wonder if you have made the right choices. The folks at GuardianDesigns were extremely helpful in guiding me but never imposed their opinion and I am just super delighted with the results. Their craftsmanship is superb.

Looks like a quality job. I couldn't tell on the site but does the converted wheels come with heating option? There are a ton of options but I think I'm going to get something similar to yours except the stitching, center strip and the "U" line on the bottom center spoke in a Ferrari red. Debating on whether or not I want the top and bottom part in alcantara. ok so maybe not that similar.... so many options
I will suggest that you take your time, examine all possibilities, have multiple discussions with the folks at GuardianDesigns and one more thing, I wanted the 3 and 9 positions a bit more beefier than stock and GD was able to do that for me. So, have fun deciding. That is the best part until which time you get the wheel installed.
I have had a flat bottom wheel since '12 Mercedes and have gotten used to it. I had hip surgery so I move seat all the way and wheel all the way up to get in and out and I'm sure it helps. Our Maserati does it automatically for me as it identifys which key is being used.
