Sticky Sport and Cruise Control Switch
Has anyone had any luck cleaning the sport switch and cruise control switch on the console? Mine are pretty sticky and fiddly from probably years worth of drinks being spilled on them. I have them out and it looks like I could spray something in there to clean them up, let them dry and then replace them in the car. I'm wondering if there is any kind of electrical cleaner that can be sprayed to loosen and remove whatever has got down into them. Thanks in advance for any ideas.
K, if you have them both out good start.
So many electronic cleaners will bleach scar the exposed surface, I'd be scared.
Just hit me that wd40 could do no damage.
I'd probably decide to disassemble them one at a time. Its well within your abilities, 1 word of warning though: WORK OVER A BUCKET or something big enough to catch anything tharc"wants to escape" as she comes apart. As I recall, its just typical jaguar switch tech: protruding rectangular plastic tabs along bottom edge holding the spring loaded switch, plunger, and guides in place.
