Default Strange clicking noise

From time to time, I hear a clicking noise like an injector click coming from the kick panel area by my left foot. It has been going on for a while. It comes and goes if you listen long enough. Have never noticed any issues as a result but would like to know what this is. 2003 XK8
Thanks

Likely the canister purge valve. There are several TSBs. I believe it is computer controlled, so it seems to come and go. On my car, it seems 30 seconds on, 30 s off. Much worse in the cold weather.

The official fix is a blanket/pad of some sort. Not even sure it is still available, and some have reported it traps moisture and causes the valve to rust. Might be able to clean it, or just replace it. Seems like an area Jaguar worked on for a while...

Best of luck, keep us posted.

TSBs are your friend.
I keep posting about encouraging people to read the TSBs for their cars but my suggestions fall on deaf ears!!!!!!!!!!

Part of the job for us Jaguar mechanics at the dealer was to keep up with the info sent out as TSBs/Service Actions.

Most common faults/complaints are addressed by TSBs.

Well, that was true even back when I was a Jaguar/British Leyland mechanic. I guess I never thought to see if they are still around or available from this site. THanks
I wonder if the parts are still available and/or if the dealer would fix it for free. Have my doubts about both. Do you know if they are available?

it is the purge canister as said here. My 03 did it, the fix was to wrap it with something to muffle the sound. Once you stop worrying about it you will stop hearing it.
