Default Stupid Car

I'm used to false error mesages by now but now I have a new one. A few weeks ago I put my top down for the first time in 5 months. Everything worked but I got a "top latch fault" message.

The last time this happend it was because I didn't hold down the down button long enough for the top latch to fully receed into the window frame. The message quickly went away.

I thought this might have been the case this time but the message persists. The top goes down fine. The latch receeds into the window frame fine, yet the dumbass message persists.

How do I clear this message?

First thing would be top line flush. Look at the reservoir in the right side trunk on top of cd changer stack. Does the fluid look bright green or yellow? Does it look congealed?
Could be SLCM. You can try, with top open all the way down to disconnect battery and see if the slcm resets.

the microswitch in the top latch may have fallen off.
