Default Subframe top wishbone hole elongated, any thoughts?

There is play in one of the top wishbones. The problem is that it's not the bushes but the bolt is loose in the cast aluminium subframe.
I'd obviously rather not have to replace the subframe. It would be nice if I could just ream it out and push some bushes in, any thoughts?

Wish it was that easy, as far as I know nobody is refurbing the subframes yet, even to do what you want will mean the removal of the subframe, higher a cradle, support the engine and get a good secondhand one........

This is caused by the wishbone bushes welding themselves to the fulcrum bolt with rust, so instead of the bushes doing there job the bolt pivots instead inside the frame causing the hole to elongate

I have seen pics of a sleeved subframe, I will have a brows around and see if I can find them, however Jagslag will sell you a second hand one for less than the cost of getting a sleeve put in.

I was wondering about the weight of the engine XKR, I hadn't looked inside to see if the engine was bolted to it, maybe a bit of scaffolding across the inner wings and some ratchet straps, they're rated at hundreds of kilos each I think.
That would be good if you we could find some info Racediagnostics, and once I have mine off I'll ring Jagslags for sure.
Thanks a lot both, I really do appreciate your input. It's a shame you don't know of a quick repair though, I'm a bit daunted.

I found this picture

in this thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...k-frame-12895/

There is also another member who has done this, Jono I think, however I think a second hand one would be a cheaper option, if you can get a good second hand one that is.

That's interesting, thanks a lot, if I still worked in a toolroom I'd do it myself.
I think you're probably right about the price being less for a secondhand one. I won't risk buying unseen as I've fallen for that before.
I'll leave the job till March now, it'll give me time to get a new jack and a few bits and pieces.
Thanks again.
