tachometer needle below pin
I bought a 2002 XK8 convertible project car with lots of issues.
One is that the tach needle is under the resting pin.
The tach needle was bouncing a lot when I test drove the car.
It was only after I removed the instrument cluster that I noticed the needle was now resting under the pin.
Anyone had this issue?

No, but my guess is that the needle is loose on the axle. Just pry it off, relocate it on the correct side of the pin at push it onto the axle. The next time you power up your car it will recalibrate it self and all be good.
I discovered this when I change the instrument cluster dials on mine. Converted from miles to km/h
