Default Tensioner job off to a bad start

My 20,000 mile 2000 XK8 started making the dreaded tensioner noise several weeks ago. After accumulating the parts I took advantage of the warm weather today to dive in.

When removing the electrical connector from the VVT solenoid, the plastic locking piece snapped off. I have spent over an hour looking for possibly a Lincoln pigtail or something that I can splice in to replace it. Does anyone know of a number for the part, or am I stuck looking for a scrapped wiring harness to canabalize the equally aged plastic part?

In the past several years I have broken several clips for the plugs on my car. I simply used a wire tie to hold them in place.

I will assume you are talking about this

This is one I have come across and replaced, the actual connector is called a "junior timer" and if you google it you will find them easy enough, should not cost more than $5 with the pins and grommets

Thanks Gus and XK. Actually, mine has the top mounted VVT with a different connector. I have thought about the zip tie, but then there goes another 99.96 concours score....

A 'dab' of black RTV silicone will hold the connector just fine.

Thanks for that idea, Bob. Over the years I have become somewhat of a silicone artist for many applications.
