Thank you to the Jaguar forum community
Hi All,
I'm new to the site as a poster but have been browsing the XK8 forum for the last 3 years.
I have a 2001 xk8 with 56000miles. Bought it in 2010 with 26,000miles.
Thanks to you I have been able to prevent or fix issues that popped up along the way.
Voltage reducer has been installed for the hydrolic pump as well as a switch to retract the radio antenna.
Lately the ABS/trac" light was permanently on and it really bothered me. I went through all the advices posted here (wheel sensors, battery, harness, etc) and eventually had to solder the ABS module. Et voila! Light is gone and Trac is back!
Wife is pregnant with twins so it will soon be the time to sell the car but before that I wanted to thank everybody here for their assistance during these 3 years or ownership.
Thank you!
Damien

Your diligence will at least pay off in a greater resale price, and there should be a few more available when the kids are older.
The other jag appears to be an s-type from the rear, its not like you don't have another car that is a 4-door...you sure you have to let the convertible go? After three years, you know its reliability, its maintenance, etc... hard to replace that later on.
Congrats on the upcoming twins, as this is advice is coming from one, have fun!

My congrats as well. Hope you both can get some sleep when the babies arrive....
Good luck with selling the car if that's what you indeed decide to do. Keep in mind that kids will fit in the pretend back seat for at least 3 or 4 years before they will start to complain about having no room. So you may want to delay selling your XK8 for awhile....

Thank you so much for the congrats messages on the twins. It made me smile ;-)
Wife wants a SUV and we do not have a 3 car garage. It will have to go at some point. Can't really afford to keep 3 cars, and also I know the xk8 can't support not to run on a regular basis...
Still this was a great experience. Loved the Jag convertible and everything that gos with it!!!

I had to laugh when I read about the twins. I have twin eight year old grand daughters and they dearly love my XK8, but niether wants to ride in the back seat so we have to flip a coin to see who rides, and who stays home. I have to admit that if it's a "really imprortant trip" (ice cream parlor) they manage to compromise.
