Smile Manual gearbox - They've only gone and done it!!!

So speaking to Danny at EAPJ, they've gone and developed a fully working 6 speed manual transmission with electronic interface for the rest of the car's electrical system.

If there was one single thing that will release the potential of these cars, this has to be it.

Both the XK8 AND XKR are catered for, Siemens and Mercedes interfaces are developed.

I'm awaiting full details, and will post an update to this thread as soon as he's given me the full info.

For me, it's ground breaking, I'm now seriously on the hunt for a 2002 car to do this conversion, and of course will create a thread once I've found the right car.

Yippeeee! ;-)

Interesting. I think my XKR will be needing a new gearbox before too long and a manual would be great. Please keep us updated.

That would be this car

A friend of mine I shared a lot of info with, EAJP have had it for about a year trying to get the box of tricks to work on the XKR, I still say it is a waste of time as a product, fantastic for the odd lunatic, after all I did it over 10 years ago

Now I need to know more...
Jaguar World October says they've got the Merc XKR working.

What's the gearbox/clutch/pedalbox from?

Gearbox is a T56, same as fitted to a lot cars, mine came from a Dodge Viper, which Jaguar also used, I used a semi organic twin plate clutch from the XJ220 and had the hub plates changed to match the input shaft on my gearbox, a bit vicious for the road car but great in my track XK, Jaguar also did the same, pedal box comes from the XJS, bolts straight in, only issue is the servo. XJS was a 3 bolt the XK is a 4, a little fabrication is then called for. The red XK has 6 pot Alcons and uses the brake master and servo from the X150.
I got over the electrics by throwing them in the bin and starting again, much better route but of course causes other issues.
