Tighten Engine Bay / Shock Tower Brace?
How to you tighten the brace in the engine bay that connects the firewall to the shock tower? I have the cowl finisher nuts removed.
Only the windshield wiper arms prevent me from removing the cowl finisher; however, it is lose enough to can get my hand underneath and I do not feel any bolts holding the brace to the firewall.
Is the firewall end tightened from underneath the dash?

That end doesnt connect to anything. Its just there for looks
lol slow monday gordo. You have to take the wiper cowl off and theyre tightened with torx bit. They mount to the firewall under the cowl

I hope you got it. I had to get a small puller to get the wiper arms off the last time I did this (to get rid of the loud knock when rolling over bumps). Had some nice white corrosion holding them on to the splines like weldment. A little anti-seize and either me or someone else will be spared next time! I think you know this but maybe for others, if you haven't taken the cowl off before a little foam tape around the perimeter of the cowl may spare you future (different) noises. This stuff comes as standard issue on some of the later years but I think that was part of the "learning" from all of the '97 complaints. Jac
Thx Jac... Yes I see that I need to get a smaller puller. Also, I noticed there had been some foam tape around parts of the cowl finisher, and I will take your advice to put some cushion in there to prevent noises.
