Tiny coolant leak, source?
For what it's worth I'll chuck in my pennies worth
In your original picture you show the plastic norma connector in the bottom of the picture.
This can be the source of the leak. They fracture and the water drips onto the exhaust and so you get the smell, and there is no trace of water because it evaporates. I cut out the norma connector with some inserts and hose, and never looked back.

No, can't be that because that Norma connector is New and the leak was coming from much forward to that. When I removed the blower, there was small coolant streams in the edges of the valley.
I haven’t done a pressure test, but since finishing this on Sunday morning and during yesterday’s and today’s commute, it seems to have finally been resolved. The previous leak has not resurfaced, there is no coolant smell coming from my engine bay, and my coolant level hasn’t dropped at all. If by Friday I haven’t had to add any coolant, then I think I can finally put this saga to rest.
Final update, we can mark this officially resolved. After nearly one week of driving, some of it spirited, and a small road trip to the convention center for a Dentist's convention, the coolant level has not lost a single drop. As a bonus, I can also confirm that there is no coolant smell and the engine's exterior is completely dry.
