Default Tire time...

Hi all.

I have a 2000 vert XK8, wich runs like a charm.

I need to replace the Dunlops I have right now. I don't really like them, so I'm studiying alternatives. From previous experiences in an BMW M3 E46 i'm doubtful between Continental Contisport 3, Pirelli PZero and Good Year Eagle F1. I still haven't tried asymmetric, but have used quite a bit the old GS3.

Bearing in mind that I don't see snow, and mileage is not a concern,

Which one of them are you people most keen on, price considerations aside?

Is there any other brand (suitable in Europe) worth a try? (Not Michelins, since I don't really like them)

Thanks in advance.

I like the Sumitomo HTR III, I have an XKR with 20" wheels and the 255/35/20 fronts are only $105 from Tire Rack and perform as well or better than the Michelin Pilot All Seasons which were chunking tread off all around the tire, pulling to one side and unbalanceable, I threw them away with 3,000 miles on them, utter trash. I have a Mini with Kumho Ecsta ASX and they are also excellent, quiet, very smooth and grippy. I currently have 285/30/20 Yokohama Advan Sport on the rear, they are nice but with a treadwear of 180 won't be there long!

I just ordered Bridgestone Turanza Serinity's 245-50-R17 for my XK8 Coupe.

Tire rack did a comparison between this tires, plus Goodyear, Michilen, and Kuhmo.

I decided on these prior to seeing the video. I have the Michilens used in the video now and they were a good tire. As far as snow thought they were ok .

hello Brick, i'll give you another option to consider

Hancook Ventus EVO V12, i'm sitting on them after about 7000 miles, and still love them. They're wearing alot better than my previous Pirelli's and Falkens, but that may be due to a competent alignment shop more than the tires themselves.

I did a write up on them after I got them installed.

What size is your 2000 MY wheels? 18s, 19s, 20s?

Thanks for the review, Matt.

I did read it, and was pretty useful. In fact, I'm changing my mind about Goodyear and I think I'll give Hankooks a try.

Oh... I have 18" rims.
