Default Top is *almost* closed (stuck)

Ugg. 2004 XK8.

Was closing the top this evening when I guess I sped up just a bit too much and it stopped its closing action about an inch (at the center) from closed. (possibly partly lached?)

I suppose the only thing I can do about it myself is check fuses. Book says its #15 in the luggage compartment. Knew about the others, but, not those in the trunk.

So, would someone be so kind as to tell me what portion of the trunk I can find the luggage fuses?

Thanks. --R.

Remove the cover over the spare. Remove the cover to the right over the battery. There it is.

The top sensor micro switches sometimes get the body processor module confused. If the fuse is not the problem you might try manually cycling the top so all the little integrated chips are happy again. That process in you owners manual.

The roof not closing is a tossup between it being confused or a failed hose, latch a blown fuse or a bad relay. I have a lot of information on the roof operation that should help but first go to this link http://www.gusglikas.com/AutoRepairH...lOperation.htm This link is to my main page http://www.gusglikas.com/autorepair.htm Good Luck!

Thumbs up Problem SOLVED.

Thank you Test Point and Gus. Fuse was good so I took the advice and, once I found the pump and allen wrench, manually closed it, and, now, all is good again.

My top is down and I am cool, again. (Well, as cool as I ever was anyway.)

Thanks guys.
