Hello all, so I am confused. One day out of the blue I go to start my 2002 XK8 and I get the restricted performance ASC ABS all that stuff. I scanned it, readings said TPS. I ordered one, installed it no difference. Then I kept replacing the one I bought back and forth with the original to test. I hard reset the battery numerous times. Now no matter what TPS I install the old or new every time I start the car it goes straight to full throttle. Full disclosure I got the TPS on ebay, it is factory part and the numbers match to mine, they are both denso sensors. I think I will go on Amazon and order an aftermarket one, I mean it can't hurt. But if you have had this issue or know a solution I would really appreciate guidance. I am very close to towing it to Chicago in bad neighborhood and well....It's such a nice car, lower miles, I put a lot into it the past year.

 

Be wary of the aftermarket sensors. You are always better off with a Denso one (assuming yours really is an official Denso one - there are many fake Denso parts out there in cyberspace)....

 

Yes mine is denso as is the one I bought on eBay that I am sure of. I may have to end up sending in the whole thight to be rebuilt
