Default TRAC OFF button

Ever since I bought this car 3 years ago I have had times I wanted to turn the traction control off and some times it won't turn off. After getting it back on the road this weekend it became an obsession to try and figure this thing out. Sometime it will go off and on without a problem, other times it won't go off. I must admit the button does fill like it's not pushing in the same as when it will go off. I tried prying the button out just incase it was getting hung up but that did nothing. It looks the same as always but just doesn't feel like it's going in the same as when it does work. Any one else have this problem?

Hey Bill,
I had the same problem when I recently had my Jag Dyno'ed. The button would turn it off, but it would come right back on when it went into Drive. The Tech finally took the fuse out so that we could continue with the Dyno Run. Sorry, I have not looked into it any further so as to offer any other insight or an answer to the problem.
Regards,
Brian

if the button has one of its 'recessed' catch tabs broken (mine has happened twice on two different buttons) the return to NORMAL, button pressed in - sport mode off, can take a delicate touch and often a finger dance.

The traction button isn't generally turned on and off alot. Perhaps it's just gummed up.

I have used a very soft touch on the lower right corner of the button the last two morning with success. Obviously a button problem.
