Default Trans Fluid Leak 2005 XKR

My 2005 XKR Coupe (55K miles) has developed a transmission fluid leak, photos attached.
The first photo is when initially discoverd and the second is after a wipe down and a few miles drive. It looks potentially like a loose pan bolt? Are there any other ideas from Forum members. The transmission is working fine and was serviced last about 10 months ago.

Thanks

Tim

Inspect the area where the wiring harness enters the transmission. It is very common for that seal to leak at around 5+ years and 50-60K miles.

+1 on that, if it is the sleeve, you need to drop the pan and change the fluid.

Having planed on doing a transmission oil change over the winter months while the car sits and waits for spring I decided one day to do it as the weather up here in sunny Buffalo has been unusually pleasant. I jacked the car and crawled under to find a large puddle of transmission fluid on the floor. Having read up on this before I ordered all parts to do the job to also include the sleeve for the wire connector. The leak was at the same location as your pictures and was verified to be the sleeve when I removed it. Easy to change but be careful and follow the guidelines you will find on this forum. Pan does need to be removed to unlock the tab that holds the sleeve in place. Mine hasn't leaked a drop on the floor yet since I replaced it. Hope this helps.

Glad to hear that H2O. I have purchased the trans service kit with the sleeve from CTS and should have everything for the fix around mid week. I will snap a few pics on the sleeve change out and post thereafter. Thanks again to those who have responded to this thread.

Also noticed in the pic, your fluid is red...must have Mercon V in her as Lifeguard6 is golden color.

I noticed the fluid color first thing and was rather annoyed as I had the trans serviced about 10 months ago and was told that the correct ZF fluid was used. I have already purchased the ZF Lifeguard 6 fluid and will be there when the job is done. However, the tans has been functioning just fine in the interim.
