Transmission fluid
I presume you mean checking the level of the ATF in your transmission, not the ATF quality. It is an involved procedure requiring you to get the ATF temperature up within a specific temperature range, then loosening the fill plug on the upper side of the transmission pan. If no fluid dribbles out after you have pulled the fill plug, your ATF is indeed low. Use "ZF 6HP26 transmission fluid change" as your search phrase and you will have plenty of reading to do regarding ATF level checks as well as the entire ATF drain-and-fill procedure. If you are running the original factory fill of ATF, it is long past time for fresh fluid. This is always much easier as a two-person job....
And if you decide to do an ATF drain-and-fill, ALWAYS make certain you can loosen the METAL fill plug on the side of the pan before you loosen the PLASTIC drain plug on the bottom of the pan....
Quite a few of us have converted our ZF 6HP26 transmissions to Mercon SP ATF, available at any Ford dealership parts department. It meets the required Shell M1375.4 specs and it is significantly less expensive than the OEM Lifeguard 6 ATF....

Check out the eminent Rev Sam Youtube video. Link below.
As the car doesn’t have a gearbox dip stick, you’ll need to check it with the car running. See the back end of the video, where Rev Sam is filling the car with the gearbox at a set temp and ATF fluid should be dripping from the full plug when full.
Overfilled ATF is just as bad as low level ATF.
