That's great news and well done!

Did you have to remove the front exhaust box or does the XJ give you a little more room to push the whole exhaust back to clear the cat outlets?

Did not have to remove it. Unscrewed the 4 exhaust studs from the cat with the torx nut to allow the cat to move forward, and with a little hammering the cat towards the front-gearbox it had room to pop out. Lubed a lot the connection of the cat to the down exhaust to aid removal

Doh! Why didn't I think of that It was a bore dismantling the exhaust

yeah... the repeated wd-40 lubing for 2-3 days made this possible.. Otherwise i would have destroyed the studs.

was very tough to re-fit the new ones back in without making any more space.. too many obstacles.. thus decided to open a new job.. remove the subframe to make room.

They fit very easily with the subframe out. ..
ofc now, found out that the sub mounts where worn out and will change all rubber bushings incl wishbone upper, lower joints etc.
