I like my XK. I just want a little more power without buying another car.I ve looked into the ECU programming, that will be my next to the last resort.Has anyone looked into or attempted to do a turbo add on?

I do not want to go through the dealer for a in for the SC one at this point.

Default Be very expensive

I'm not aware of a turbo kit for this (and I spent some time looking) which means you'd have to do the fabrication yourself. Given how cheap XKRs are either going that route or doing the LS1 engine swap would be tons cheaper. Depending on how handy you are and how new an engine you want you can do the swap from $7K to $20K. An XKR 2004 to 2006 (the best years in our series) are between $20K and $30K in good shape and you can sell your car and recover some of that. They are even working on a manual kit for the LS1, not sure if it is done yet. I went the XKR route, tons cheaper unless you do the work yourself. Just my 6 cents.

Default Turbo XK8

I haven't noticed any turbo setups for this car either. These cars already have fairly high compression so you are going to have to change that for a turbo or supercharger.
I have a turbo Dodge but it is really cheap to experiment and play with compared to a Jaguar. Imagine blowing a head gasket, blowing rings or burning valves in your Jaguar engine then repairing it.
I would look for a supercharged engine out of another car. But you still have to get the correct electronics for the car. That changeover hasn't looked real easy in these cars.
Me, I would have bought a XKR first before going through trying to get more hp with the XK. Someone can do it; just how much do you want to spend.
Good luck.

The normally aspirated cars actually have higher compression ratios than the supercharged cars and don't really lend themselves to adding more boost anyway. And the transmission on the NA cars is a weak link anyway.

If you really want the extra power, sell your car and buy and XKR.

It's not really cost effective at all to swap engines or add a turbo when you can buy an R type with the factory supercharger, a better tranny, more factory options and 100 extra horsepower for a few thousand more than a normally aspirated XK.

The advice above (buy an R) has been repeated many times for good reason.
