I have this out of my car at the moment, and I'm looking at mounting it to the rear shelf instead. I'll post my results.

ugh....I'm sorry, I forgot.

Plus I got rained out. I'll be back there.

What is the best way to remove?

So far I have a tonneau cover to send out, seven different electrical thinggys, an overhead console and a rear view mirror. Probably all at 70+% off (asking) prices on ebay.

Was that a waste of time? Anyone need 'em?
Absolutely not a waste of time, if no-one else wants them I'll take them, refurbish and pass on to another forum member when the need is discovered.

I may probably still need them when I send my car for a paintjob some time after I graduate.

Thank you very much!

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. It's been a hectic long weekend.

Thanks - I'm sure they won't go to waste.

Just to clarify for myself, by saying “third brake light gone” your referring to the coupe?
and just to reiterate, I only need the plastic cover for third brake light, but has to be coupe.
If so then I am all set with parts but I thank you for offering, very noble of you to take time out to help other forum members or other non members. Like stated above anything electronic from the 97 is worthwhile aka any module(under seat, dimming/light, j-gate illumination module, tcm, ecu, alarm/lock in trunk under fuse panel, a/c electronics, roof console related stuff, hell even phone or nav stuff, always a market for(among others). Also with that year the abs module tends to have bad solder joints and could easily be sold, srs modules in passenger side fascia(blue module from inside kick panel, a pain to remove but sells easily on eBay, I know I bought one for 75 plus shipping and didn’t need/use it) and even alarm sounder, there’s two types, behind passenger headlight best accessible by removing passenger wheel well.

Sorry it didn't work out Stevis.

I'm going to go back as often as I can to grab whatever.

Fun to do plus I get a good understanding of how these things go together.....or apart.

I think the steering wheel has to come off to get the switches. At least the airbag has to come out.

If it will come out without too much effort I'll take the engine oil dipstick and tube from the 2001, mine got bent during the timing gear overhaul.

If it won't come free without too much effort, leave it - I really appreciate the work you're putting in for forum members here.

FYI the dash wood panels just "pull" off, retainer clips. Def worth grabbing any that aren't damaged.

The electronics in the trunk (CD changer etc.) all three units mounted in the trunk.

The roof mounted console with the lights and the buttons. got it!!!

How are the front seats in either. Particularly the drivers seat?

Do either of them have the nav screen in the center of the dash? Would love one if they do. it was $45....is that a good price. It was nice and dry

On the vert how are the door cards? any pics?

By all means for a list of stuff to grab, any all electronics you can easily get out (controllers in the engine bay, under the dash, etc.), if the door seals are in decent shape grab em, badges, the rear glass from the vert top, any plastics that are in good shape like the seat belt covers, the wood from the dash, the center console covers, rando buttons (valet switch, trunks and gas buttons), glove box doors, any manuals that are destroyed, seats and carpet, basically anything that you would want to buy for your other cars that go bad, get scratched, break from normal wear and tear.

Happy to take this to DM if you prefer.

Happy hunting, I love junk yards so many things.
