Default Unidentified switch near door latch

I'm reassembling a 98 XK8 that I disassembled -- unfortunately -- several years ago -- much too long for this old memory. I have discovered a small black cube, only about 1/2" on a side, wired in common with the wires on the driver side door latch (haven't yet checked the passenger side to see if it's there, too). In this cube are two microswitches. I'm thinking, window limit switch? But the plastic housing that holds the little black cube is disconnected/broken off from anything else, so I don't know how to position it. Can anyone identify this switch for me, and tell me how/where it mounts? Many thanks!

Default Need picture to see what you’re referring to

Can you post a picture as it’s hard to know what “cube” you’re referring to

Default Weird 2 plunger microswitch

I recently posted on my weird 2 plunger microswitch in the driver door latch of my 97 XK8 coupe (build date October 1996) asking for help identifying it. I have not seen any info on this switch in the forums and internet. Here are photos showing the switch and orientation in the latch. I will appreciate any info about the switch and replacements.
Thanks,
DrDan

2 plunger microswitch is behind this cover.

Close up of 2 plunger microswitch “cube”.

Orientation of the 2 plunger microswitch in the latch. The two plungers contact adjacent cams of different shapes. I don’t know what the cams and switch do. Can anyone tell us what this switch does?

I found this reference:
https://www.toneluckswitches.com/pro...e-microswitch/
But I think it is enough to use two three-contact microswitches (NC and NO) placed side by side. I have not tried it when I changed the switch that controls the lowering of the window when opening the door, but I have verified that the width matches. Two like this could work:

Nice find! That housing on the original is to waterproof the switches. I don't know how exposed to water they are, but it's worth bearing in mind when replacing with something different.
