Default Unused plugs in trunk/boot

Can anyone tell me what these sockets/plugs are for? The two black ones come out of a bundle of wires that goes to the fuse box in the trunk/boot. The two white ones go back behind the power antenna and convertible top mechanism, though I can’t see where they end up. They all four appear to be female, and I can find absolutely nothing that looks like it would plug into any of them. I even removed the fuel tank shield so I could see the wiring better. This is on the right side of the boot/trunk, down between the battery and aft of the wheel well. I was wondering, if perhaps, they were for an option that my car doesn’t have. 97 XK8 convertible LHD 4.0 non-supercharged. Thanks.

Those plugs served their one-time purpose during the vehicle's ocean voyage across the Atlantic. The on-board battery maintainer system was plugged in there. You can now tuck them away and out of sight....

Thank you Jon89. That’s interesting, and with 162 looks at this thread so far, it would appear that few members, myself included, knew this. Or, perhaps, most XK8 owners have never seen these plugs. The only reason I found them is that my power antenna is inop and I was snooping around for something amiss.

The left connector you can use for an auxilliary power socket.
