Water Deflector?
The other day I noticed that a water deflector part number HJB3770BA is called out for the XK8 4.0L trans. Does anyone know where it bolts to or has a photo of it in place. I dont have one on my 1999 XK8 and was wondering what function it has in relation to the transmission
Bumping this as I have the same question. It looks like this deflector installs at the junction of the engine to bellhousing, under/behind the throttle body, and under the "octopus hose". Mine was broken and held in place (sort of) by zip ties. So I would also like to know how it is supposed to attach. Not sure what function it has either.
There is a steel bracket that bolts to the top of the gearbox for hanging the water deflector, the Oxygen sensor and trans shaft position sensor harness connectors.
The water deflector does NOT bolt (no fasteners), it hangs from 2 steel tabs.
