Default Water pump

I've done most of the cooling system on my 97 and know the water pump can be a potential issue. Mine is fine but I'm a preventative maintenance guy. What brand pump is most preferred? I've also read that you can, or should, use one originally designed for a Ford Ranger pickup.

I used this one. The one specified for the Lincoln LS 3.9 works, too, but is more expensive. The Ford Ranger water pump looks nothing like the Jag pump.
