Default Well, I went and did it....

I loved my XK8 so much... I wanted a newer and quicker one.

I just purchased a 05 XKR triple black with low miles... It ships tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone here at the forums. I officially hate ALL of you now.

Haha, of course. I wouldn't be a good poster if I didn't.

Yeah, my 97 was a spur-of-the-moment, uninformed purchase. It was good to be able to try one for so cheap only to realize the car suits my personality much better than I could have imagined... and my checklist of "wants" from it would cost almost as much as just buying the 05 so it was a no-brainer. I plan on keeping it until I die... yeah, it strikes home so well for me. I haven't decided if I'll sell the 97 or not. I guess I'll have to wait till I get familiar with the XKR until I make that choice.

And that leads me to this question: Does anyone know if the Mina chrome gauge rings match the stock ones on the XKR?

I will absolutely be doing the 3 gauge conversion to the XKR even if I have to pay my shop to do the wiring.

I do not know if they are an exact match, but they are a quality item and look good if installed with a bit of care. There is an interior photo in my garage that shows them from an angle view you do not normally see...this might give you the information you seek.

Thanks. Beautiful car. I was more wondering how the small gauge rings compared to the large factory XKR gauge rings... seeing how I will be doing the conversion, I wanted the rings to match.

I know the feeling. I had a '98 XK8 for a few years, but the allure of more power and all the extras (SS pedals, instrument gauge bezel, shifter surround, 20" wheels) finally got me and I upgraded to an '05 R too. You'll love it.
