Hi all,

I ordered some front shock to mounts and instead of the colored rubber I am used to seeing, it is black and *seems* stiffer.

Has anyone used these and are they more stiff? I want a smooth ride, so this would be an issue for me.

They will never be as harsh as when the Orange foam compresses to near metal on metal in the coming years.

I would not describe the ride as harsh in any way, but I have 17" wheels. Someone with 20" wheels might say their ride is harsh with these.

 

Whatever you decide don't buy the crap Euro version. I got a pair from PartsGeek and they did not even last 2 years before they started collapsing.



I will probably go for the Welsh version when I replace the failing ones still on the car. OE are just too pricey and I don't want to keep replacing them every couple years.

If you decide you don't want your Welsh ones I could buy them from you.

 

Ok, I feel better about them now- I'll report back if I have any issues. Now to replace the trans and start driving!

 

We went with the Welsh Enterprises poly shock mount kit (they are indeed black) on the front axle of my wife's 2006 XK8 back in early January. Definitely much stronger and far more solid than the crappy orange pencil eraser-type OEM shock mounts. Very happy thus far with the poly kit....

 

We installed the Welsh Ent. mounts and their shock assists. We are Happy Campers also!

 

Ditto, I put the Welsh ones on mine and they have been fine.
