Wow, a 17,000 mile 1998 time bomb.


I hope the new owner knows not to start/drive it until he replaces the tensioners.


20 years is a like a 100 "brittle plastic sitting in oil" years.

 

I thought the same ......17,000 miles may seem like a dream to some but it feels like a nightmare to me.

 

Well with the results mostly in, it looks like BJ is the place to sell an XK8.

The 17K mile car $14,900 which is high considering it will probably need the most work out of all of the 10 X100's that sold. Oh, and the ABS light is on. No worries.

$22K is pretty strong money for an '05

Argent Wheel '98 with 62K miles sold for $12K The car is beautiful, but could need a couple $1000 in work soon.

A couple of the cars that sold for $8K have low noses and none of the Pre 2001 cars mention tensioners.

I predict at least 1/2 of the 10 new owners will be becoming forum members in the near future.
