What to do about the antenna?

This newer to me car already had the stock antenna missing and came with a crappy flexible antenna which already got caught in the trunk and broke off. Having a functional antenna to pick up radio signal is not high on my list. Good looks are higher.

My options:
1. Replace with stock and unplug power so it doesn't extend.
2. Get rid of antenna and have body shop fill in.
3. Other?

Has anybody replaced the stock with a small shark fin? I might try that if they produced an angled one instead of just flat.

Let me know your ideas.

I replaced mine with one off fleaBay. I've done this with my old XJ8 too. They cost $30 - $40. They last at least a couple of years, and once you do it a couple of times it's not too bad to replace them.

I purchased a used OEM from Coventry West and did the total replacement as my motor was failing. Easy job and has been fine for like 4 years or so.

Replaced mine with an OEM, left it unplugged and used a hidden antenna I got off ebay. doesn't work quite as well but at least it doesn't look like a mast from the Blue Nose.

So return it to stock is what I am hearing. Anybody do anything different but still keep it understated?

I would just restore the stock setup and then do the Antenna Switch Mod to limit the antenna's up time to only when the radio is used.
