Talking What the heck!

I pride myself on spotting Jaguars. I spotted this yesterday. They may have been around for a while, I don't know, but my knee jerk reaction is "What the heck is the world coming to?"

That looks like an X-type has been cut-and-shut with a Volvo.

( Edit: I didn't make 'Volvo' into a link, no idea why that's linking to Ebay ).

I have had an X-Type for 4 years and although the X-Type has been much maligned, I've always liked the it. Mine has over 180k miles on it and it still runs fine and is fun to drive. I think the X-Type station wagon was a great family car and don't understand why they weren't more popular.

Saw a dark green version at the national MGB gathering in French Lick, Indiana this past June. Beautiful car.

When I see one of
on the road, that's when I'll stand up and stare.

X-Type estate. Jaguar's only production foray into the genre. Don't see very many - shame the image didn't resonate in its intended market.

I've seen various pictures of one-offs of XJ40, X300 and MKII (that didn't work for me). Perhaps this is the ultimate - only 67 built..

Jaguar has/does also make the XF Sportsbrake
http://www.jaguar.com/jaguar-range/xf/xf-models/xf-sportbrake-se.html

There is also talk of a future XE wagon of some sort, but it remains to be seen if we see it in the US.
