Default What is this part of the headlight?

Hi all,

Referring to the XKR I am looking at present (see recent discussion here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ide-xkr-72006/)

Besides the paintwork which I believe is fixable, the only obvious major defect I could find was that one of the headlights has a little shiny panel missing from it. (See attached image - not the car I am looking at BTW). I think this is the cover for the headlight washer. There was a small round black disk present which I guess is the water jet. I am guessing these covers fall off other XKs to? Can the shiny panel be bought by itself or does the whole light assembly need to be purchased? Looking at eBay, the whole headlight assembly can be rather expensive.

I am wanting to make an offer 10% below the owner's price expectation, and I am thinking about headlights while I work out whether I have the guts to pull the trigger on this one.

Regards
Cadmium

The shiny triangular panel is the 'Jet Cover' on headlamps with power wash. It is available separately. They are left and right handed - separate part numbers.

Check it's only this part missing and the powerwash works. There's been some recent posts about broken jet assemblies.

Good advice as always Graham!

I will check the functioning of the washer itself.

Always be wary when looking at parts on Ebay.

Here in the UK new and even used parts are often priced higher than from a dealer!

Dismantlers here seem to price parts by - think of a price then x 10.
£15 is a usual price for 1 plastic control button.
