What's this pipe....
....and where does it go to?
From the pics below you can see that it goes from the intake manifold elbow through some heat protection material then through a bulkhead into the protected area on the UK driver side, I can't see where it goes from there.
The sealing collar on mine has perished and it is pretty loose so must be causing a vacuum leak, I would like to fix with a new collar or some high temp silicone sealant.
Any thoughts?

On the US cars a very similar tube on the right side of the intake elbow is for the brake booster. It connects to a fitting just forward of the bay where your brake cylinder should be. From there it disappears behind heat shielding and somehow makes its way to the brake booster.
They have o-ring seals in those fittings and do not need to be especially tight to seal. I would confirm that there really is a vacuum leak before gooping it with RTV.
The fitting is pressed in so technically should be replaceable but no idea where you might find one.

Ahhh, that would make sense, mine is very lose so it seems like the collar and or o-ring have failed.

Looks like there is just a collar and no O ring, the collar was in bits when I removed the pipe which has a quick release connector at the other end.
As a replacement pipe and new collar will be ~£50 I'll have to make do with some hight temp rtv, however a new heat shield sleeve is just £5 so I will invest on one of those.

All you need is this kit to fix it.....
Jaguar BRAKE BOOSTER VACUUM HOSE CONNECTOR KIT - C2S15816
You do not need to take out the copper pressed in piece, I tried and it was IN THERE so I left it. Take the o-ring out that is in there, it may be hard plastic now, mine was at 99k. Put the new ring from the kit in the copper pressed in thing, there is a groove in there that will hold it in place (from going into the TB elbow. The black part in the kit has some type of teeth on it. You put that on the end of the black tube you show in the pic and push it into the whole, same length down the black tube that should be marked on it from the old stuff. Once it is in you can't pull it out as it grabs the black tube and holds it in place. Sure it you yank hard enough it will but then you are buying the kit again.
Again you DO NOT have to remove the brass pressed in part unless it is visibly cracked or the like which I would bet your Jag that it is not.

Post 29 is the pic of mine, the black tube tip should JUST come even with the opening of the holes, i forget which one is the one with the brass fitting in that pic. I think mine is sticking out a HAIR but should not breach the holes much more then that.

Some of their stuff is not listed on their site because it never gets ordered he told me and there is just oo much to get up all at once. So if you use them I would look at their site for your part best you can, if you can't find it call them and worse case is they ask for a pic of it so they can find it and at that point they throw it up on the site.
