03 Xk8 how hard is intake removal?
Well the intake and all is out of the car. If it starts and runs when it is all back together I will be SHOCKED. ha ha ha ha
What should I clean the parts with? TB, in take and all?? What is a safe way to clean plastic intake, TB, metal intake part?

here she is. Valley hoses look decent, no bulging, no burns into the rubber. The hose coming off the top of the pass side rear of valley hose is major bloated it will need replaced. Wonder what hose that is in the second pic? What do I call it.
I used to have that JTIS disc but sold it when I got rid of my 97 years back.
I found a manual pdf here I think will have it listed, will check it off at home. Thought someone would know off hand.

Ice blasting of the TB. The dude holding the cell camera was not close as I wanted so most of it you can see how fast it is cleaning. Look real hard you can though at times in the video.
well I have ordered all the hoses and gaskets to get the intake stuff put back together. One key hose that I did not see until I had the intake off is a heater hose back to the EGR. This hose is on the pass side valley hose set up. That pass side valley hose comes back and connects to a tube, on the other end of tube is the octopus connection. In the MIDDLE of that tube there is a smaller hose that goes off to the EGR. That hose is small but was buldging badly. I would have NEVER seen it unless I had the intake stuff off. It is right near the exhaust so it gets some serious heat and stress.
Well all my hoses are in. The valley hose that connects to the octopus hose on the drivers side was not cut exactly like the orig (see post 23) but it works. The pass side valley hose was correct but too long, had to cut off about 2 inches.
If you are into your car and have the TB, TB elbow, intake, all off you may as well do ALL of your hoses. The small ones going to the EGR thing the back behind the TB, there are two, both of mine at 98k were bloated the hell and back. The pic here of the old and new hose, the old one is on the tube, you can see it, on the pass side octopus tube connection, rather bloated. Would have been a BITCH to get to if it had blown.
In this pic you can see how big it got from orig size. There is a second hose off the EGR (think that is it) to the TB, replace it also. Mine was bloated also (no pictured here).

For anyone wondering about part numbers for all this stuff to get it all back together PM I can get you them and who I ordered them from. On the 03 xk8 anyways, there are 8 indvl gaskets that go into the bottom of the black top part of the intake setup. Your local Jag dealer does not sell them as a serviceable part, you can't buy them. I was told that Land Rover sells the same thing and you can get them........
LAND ROVER GASKET INTAKE MANIFOLD
FOR RANGE ROVER 4.4 FROM 2006 TO 2009
RANGE ROVER SPORT
LR3
Part# 4526549
I was told that those will work, they do look the sames what I pulled off my intake, I will update when I get them and on the car.

well the intake is back together and in the car along with the induction elbow, egr hooked back up. Waiting for one egr to TB water line and the fuel rail fix then lets hope it starts.
I went ahead and replaced the vac line that runs under the intake also. It looked ok but had some heat marks/impressions in it and the end at the tb was cracking.
Forgot to take a pick with the intake back in the car.

On some of the valley hose connections I did find this. Where the clamp was the pipe was clean as can be, behind it a little rustiness was present. Found the same issue on the metal tube that the pass side valley hose connected to at the back of motor.
BRG, congratulations on getting it all back in place. Now the big question ???? will it start? I can see you have given it your full attention and have no doubt success is going to be the result.
Well done.

Oh, What Gus says. Really good time to do that and until you do it with the intake on, you can't appreciate how much simpler it would be now.

I replaced the Tstat housing earlier this summer, it was leaking. I am sending out the Fuel rail to have the dampeners capped and injectors cleaned while they have it. Once they come back then I get scared, will it start, how many warning lights will come on. Not knowing how far I would end up doing things on this car, the only hoses not replaced are the two coming from the heater core. At this point they look good, no bloating, no signs of seepage as some others had shown. I am tired of working on the car at this point so they will wait for another day. Ha ha ha
I have to address some front end issues so that is next. I know the front shock mounts on top are TOAST so I have to fix that. The car is sitting about an inch lower then stock and the tops of the tires lean in some.
