Default Wheel size compatability: X100 with others

Hi,

I am looking to source a set of 18 or 20-inch wheels for my 2005 XKR, which has 20-inch Sepangs right now. I am not at all up on wheels and tyres, but I assume that the main issues are the width, offset, diameter and wheel nut size/spacing.

I wonder if anyone can help me on advising whether wheels for other models - notably the X150 series, would fit (exactly). And do other models share the X100 feature of different widths of wheels front and back, so would any of those do?

Thanks - with apologies if this has been dealt with before (I couldn't locate such a thread).

Can you expand on what you are trying to achieve?

The short answer is that going with wheels that are not X100 XKR wheels is sort of hard. There is the size of the hub that comes in the picture. Also, a big complicating factor in your case is the size of the brakes...

Essentially I am looking for a spare set of wheels for the XKR, which is fitted with Brembo brakes, of course. Clearly, there will be no problem if I find wheels from another XK8 or XKR of the same era (1999-2006), but if other models share the same wheel structure then it would increase the pond of potential wheels in which I could fish. There is, for example, right now a single Sepang 20" wheel on ebay, for an X150 (I don't know whether front or rear), and I don't know whether it is the same or different from the wheels on the X100.

That is clearly your best path, but there are (severe) limitations.

I am pretty sure X150 is not compatible...

Your X100 wheels are 5x120 bolt pattern. All of the new models introduced since the S-Type (X150, X200, X250, X350, etc.) use a different bolt pattern (5x108) so all those are out unless you want to use specific adapters that fit the hub diameter & bolt pattern correctly.

I believe that all of the 19" X100 wheels will fit the brembos except the Apollo style.

It was a good idea, while it lasted! Thank you both for your input; I'll source wheels from an X100, and will abandon ideas of looking elsewhere.

You've saved me from a probably expensive mistake - please pat yourselves on the back!

Just get an insurance rider on the wheels. I have Detroit's, and since the 20" are so scarce, decided that would be better way to go,
