Default XK8 Turn Signal Problem

I wonder if anyone out there has gone through what I am going through now. I have a 1997 XK8 convertible with 105,000 miles on it. Recently, the turn signal indicators on the dash began blinking rapidly, the problem being that none of the external indicator lights, front or rear, were flashing. Trouble shooting the problem has led to my dashboard being completely disassembled and the problem still has not been determined. Any ideas or suggestions out there?

I always start by checking the battery. A failing battery can cause all kinds of gremlins. Second check your ground points.

Thanks Bob Roy. I'll make sure this has been done. My mechanic is very experienced so I assume this has been done or is being done.

Astro, fast blinking turn lights are an indicator of a burned out bulb. I hope it is, simple solution for a change.

Yes, I thought of the 4 bulbs out unlikelihood also. This means the problem has to be on the front end of the system before going to either side of the car. Is their some type of control module in and XK8 that the signals from the turn signal switch feed into?

I had this same problem on my 97. I did the rear tail light ground fix that you can find on this forum. No more problems.

Astro, the turn switch feeds directly into the Body Processor Module which in turn feeds the indicator lamps directly: they don't even appear to be separately fused.

Do any/all of the lamps flash if you press the 'Hazard' switch?

Michael, my turn signal stalk works fine but I here no audible clicking when the turn signal lever is activated, what do think?
