Default Wheels

Has anyone refinished their own stock wheels? My 2000 XK8 still looks great, but I'd feel better if the wheels looked a bit newer.

Having it professionally done will be best, but I have done touch up with Duplicolor High performance wheel coating in silver and clear coat. The silver is a surprsiingly good match to the stock color on my 2001 and the quality of these paints is excellent for a spray can finish. Just make sure you shake the heck out of the silver can before and periodically during use.

I had a set of wheels for my 300ZX powder-coated silver. Cost was $200.

Hey there, 2 ways to go really I guess.....either get a professional refurb with a cost of $200 - $300 or have a go at doing it yourself?
I did my wheels some time ago for the X type and also more recently for my A6.....They turned out well and I have had no problems with them, just great looking rims
I've added a couple of links below.....one for a set of rims I did for my X type and one for the A6.....Hope they help

I cleaned/repaired and painted my own wheels with duplicolour as well. Takes a bit of time, but no more visible curb rash. Good match to original color.

I have shopped around the Atlanta area for a strip/refurbish/paint price and find $150-200 per wheel. An additional $50 to bend a bent one round again.

I would dearly love to get them chromed. Just not into $1000+ for wheels. Oh, did you want tires?

Spare change jar going toward the Volvo/V8 project.

Anyone got a better deal? Shipping the wheels makes it prohibitively expensive.
