Default Wheels

I have been searching to replace the muscle car wheels on my 97 XK8. I found this site wheelsrims.net that has the Gemini style (17x8) for $112 each, free shipping when you buy 4. Anyone done business with them?

Thanks

I haven't, but sounds like just another generic "wheels" site. Most of these online sites will try and pass of BMW bolt pattern wheels for the Jag to increase their potential customer base. Keep in mind that the jag is a 4.75'' (120.65mm) as opposed to the more common european 120mm.

In my opinion, I'd only buy real refurbished jag wheels online. If you're going with aftermarket wheels then go with a local wheel shop - our jags got a pretty unique bolt pattern, hub size and spacing, and you'll get vibrations or other issues if the fit's not perfect. With a local shop you can always get them to resolve an issue, online it's a done deal (shipping's a hassle, restocking fees, most won't take refunds once wheels have had tires mounted).

As a side note, I wouldn't go smaller that 18's. 18's have a big enough sidewall to give great ride comfort while still looking nice and sporty and filling in the wheel wells adequately - 17'' will look funky on the jag in my opinion.

I noticed that they had the Impeller and the Gemini wheels each listed at two different prices, once at $112 and again at $220+. If you haven't already, be sure to call there and see which price you can get.

Thanks, I appreciate the input.

skidmark, I think they list the chromed wheels at the higher price.

pomosv, I am concerned about the bolt pattern since this site doesn't specify it. I am looking at 17" so I don't have to get new tires.

I would call them to verify the correct size before ordering.

I'm in your same situation and looking for new wheels for my 97. check these two sites:
Are you looking for car rims, custom wheels, performance tires, chrome wheels or black rims? WheelsNext.com is the solution!
Wheels Rims and Tires. Custom Chrome Wheels 20 22 Inch Rims

They have a brand, Coventry Wheels that is specifically for Jaguars. They have two models, check them.

That makes sense, chrome wheels are expensive. Glad I prefer the silver paint more. I also prefer 17's, the ride is much better, and the Laminas look great on my car. I'm running them now for winter.

MR, looks like Filipe knows where you can get some nice revolver wheels.

I also prefer the silver vs chrome. I am looking for an OEM wheel and like the Gemini style. I guess I'll have to phone and verify size.

Check this guy out. I'd get a price quote including shipping from him. He refirbishes OEM's, so I'm sure he has the Gemini...
