If you first took some time to research this topic, you'll see opinions vary; which is why nobody is giving you a definitive answer. My '97 is a lifetime fill: but, I change the ATF in all my cars before 60-70K.

^^^ Ditto, I do a drain and fill evry 2 yrs/30k and change the filter on the 3rd drain. My tranny still looks new inside at 130K on the 96, and I have followed this rule for years. And I do this on all of my cars

1st the pan is the filter, and the pans do warp and fill not seal. so DO NOT drop the pan unless you wan to change it and or take your chances on sealing. You can drop it and clean the magnets, Im just telling you that you shouldnt at you mileage looking at a risk vs benefit. use a hex tool to take the drain plug out of the bottom of the pan and drain. reinstall. you will need to have 5 litres of tranny fluid avail. you have to cut and shorten a 8mm hex to get it into the fill plug on the right side of the trans towrds the rear. take out the plug and put a couple litres in without the engine running.if it starts to run out loosly install the plug and start the engine. conitnue to fill until it runs out again. once it quits and the fluid temp is around 100* close it up. The fun part is you need something to get the fluid in. Iuse a pressure vessel to fill. or you could use a drill attachment to suck out of the bottle and pump into the trans...Its messy and smelly, the fluid stinks like cat spray

Default Just a word of advice

I believe you are somewhat of a "newbie" here and folks can sometimes be a bit surly, especially to those who just pop up and ask a question that, with a bit of research, is already answered.

At least do a bit of researching first so that you can introduce your question with something like ". . . I searched the forum and googled other sources and what I found was . . . , what do you guys think"

At least showing that you put the effort in trying and find the answer somewhere first will elicit "kinder" responses.

Just saying.

Doug
