Default Where's the Fuel Sending Unit and how to repair?

My fuel gauge suddenly drops to "E" with amber light.. It would occasionally come back and give me a reading, only to sporadically drop off again.

Where is the Fuel Sending Unit?

In the rear wall of the tank. Remove the trunk liner and you will see it. You can replace it if the tank is less than 1/4 full.

I remember reading somewhere that it was on the other side of the tank because it's a convertible..

Assuming it's on the trunk side, what does the job entail?
