Who would have thought a detail would transform my car!
On my black car it really disappears. No more visible than the old one. But there is a little black triangle piece that was around it when I took off letters. You could put it back on to protect the paint. Again, it wouldn't really show either on a dark car. I've never used my key to open trunk. Either the key remote fob or boot button on dash. But I am retrofitting the old button from chrome plinth under the plastic plain one. Really easy if already equipped with the button.

I have to say my car is SHINY!! Hey, you can also see my painted headliner I did with fabric spray! It looks even better in person.
I'm also giving up my idea of side vents too. I may order the chrome rings for the small side markers and possibly paint black. I wish there was an elegant small jaguar badge like the chrome strip in the side vents on my XF. The small clear markers look cheap IMO. Maybe the trim ring will help.

Phil,
The paint looks sharp. $200 well spent. How come you decided on going silver with your wheels? I thought you were really keen on keeping the black on black motif.
You mentioned that the dents will be removed after the the detail. Does that make sense? Shouldn't they be removed prior to the detail?

Ad the dent guy had a family emergency and could get there but my detailed wanted to polish so he could take photos for his web site. He said if there's any issue after dent removal, he'll take care of it for free!
That's a bargain for $200! I paid $250 for the same when I got mine many months ago and it didn't turn out quite that good (was still worth it, to get a professional baseline to then maintain). Well done, impressive.
I dread washing it! But I've got to. I know there's no way to avoid fine scratches. A friend sat her pocket book on the boot and left fine scratches when she slid it off. Ugh.
I know. I think it was a bit intentional! She's selling her xjs and is very jealous of my xk8! She got a Chrysler crossfire.
Wish I had 6500 sitting around. I'd get it. She's had it 16 years.

I'm working on them next weekend! I've gone back a and forth about using them now but I've got to see them on after all the trouble and $$$$ to buy them!
