I bought the ELM 327 Bluetooth one off Ebay for less than $4 shipped. I haven't tried it yet, but it was less than $4.

What device are you trying to connect to? If it's an iOS device, you will need true wifi or a made for iOS device.

Also note that some applications will not connect to a clone elm327, they intentionally block the clones.

I was checking on eBay recently, and some of the ELM327 devices now come with both WiFi and Bluetooth, so would work with either Android or iOS. As mentioned, the cost of those devices is so low, I do not see why anyone would want not to have one of these around...

I installed a new AL thermo tower this weekend and must have disturbed some wires because it threw a code.

Plugged in my less than $4 Shipped ELM327, downloaded the free Torque lite app (took less than 1 minute), found the OBD reader on my phone, read the code/cleared the code.

$4 shipped/free app technology is amazing.
