I'm going insane trying to find out if this swap will fit. And I need new lenses as mine are leaking water!!
I've looked at the xenon and halogen lenses and they look identical!! One is black and one is chrome. When I ordered the 2006 non xenon lenses, they came in chrome.
Gaudin says the 2006 vin I gave them was for the xenon headlamps. They say they are a different part and won't fit, BUT, he said he's only able to go by the part number and in fact, they could be the same exact lens but in black. Seems their policy is if its not for your vin, it's your problem.
If I order the xenon and they don't fit, I'm stuck with a pricy mistake but they did return the chrome set since they weren't black.
I know I've seen posts where people have made this switch but I can't find them! Must have been buried in a non related post.
Can anyone definitively say these xenon lenses will or won't fit my 02 halogen lamps????

I didn't think there was a difference on the 2006MY between the lens on the standard headlamp and that on the HID headlamp but the Parts Catalogue says otherwise!

HeadLamp - Standard (Powerwash)

Headlamp - HID (Powerwash)

Although this has identified different Part Numbers, I can't add any more certainty as to which is definitely black other than to say my HID's are black.

probably a new part number to seal it better! I would feel pretty confident in the shape and size to be identical to all previous lamps.

No one is likely to steal the seal design - my 2006 gets just as much condensation inside as the 2001 did.

At least the HID's dry them out faster.

Every resource I've found says ALL the 2005 and 2006 came with the black lenses. Every HiD lamp I've seen on those cars came with them as well.
I'm going to use those part numbers and take a chance. I'm going to discuss with Gaudin one more time about returning if not black.
The way I see it, if its a 2006 HID lens, it should come be black. If its chrome, jaguar should take it back!
As for the condensation, I've actually found spaces in the seal between the clear lense and chrome backing where I think the seal has failed and moisture gets in. Hoping the new ones may rectify that.

Should fit
I had '98 lights that I put 2004 HID lenses on with no issues, it was part of the headlight mod I did. Be aware that the lights may still leak depending on where the water is coming from. There is a factory fix for that problem I had installed at the same time. You can also have a paint shop that knows what they are doing open up the lens assembly and color match the inside (but given your car is black anyway not much point in that).
